Big Five is a professional personality framework built around five core behavioral dimensions: Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Emotional Stability (the OCEAN model). It provides insight into a candidate's or employee's behavioral profile, as a complement to other assessment inputs (interview, work samples, experience). The assessment is based on statements that the person rates according to their level of agreement, on a 5-point scale (from "Strongly disagree" to "Strongly agree"). There is no right or wrong answer: each response reflects a personal tendency, not a skill to demonstrate. To limit response bias, particularly the tendency to agree by default, statements are worded in both directions: some in line with the trait being measured, others reverse-worded, with scoring recalculated accordingly to stay consistent with the trait's scale. Each dimension is assessed through several independent statements, which strengthens measurement reliability compared to a single item and limits the impact of any one response on the overall result.
